![]() I was born in Southern California November 6, 1979, to great parents, Robin and Beth Howell. Our family was joined by my sister Kirstin in October a few years later. Just before my fourth birthday, we moved to Halifax, Nova Scotia, to 33 Dingle Road in the Fleming Park where my sister and I grew up. I began studying the harp in California when we stayed there in 1995-1996. I had the privilege of studying with Margi Mirken for several months and she got me
hooked. When we returned to Halifax, I began hunting for a new teacher, and all roads led to
Cheryl. Cheryl Reid-O'Hagan now teaches out of the Maritime Conservatory of Music, on Chebucto
Road, where runs the
Eastcoast Harp Shop.
There she teaches, sells books and sells and rents harps. Following in Cheryl's foot steps, I
began playing at weddings and receptions and now have started teaching a bit myself. In June
2003, I got married to long-time boyfriend and best friend, Marc Renault. We were married at
the King's College Chapel on Coburg Road. Please check out our wedding site to see some great
pic of our Medieval Wedding. It was awesome!
Marc and I both did our degrees at Dalhousie University. Marc studied Computer Science and I did a combined honours degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and Chemistry. I will be returning to school next year to start my Masters of Science in pathology. Should be fun! |
