Nisa Renault's Harp Webpage
Nisa Renault, Celtic Harpist

Lessons Title

Though the harp is a beautiful instrument, and seemingly quite complicated, it is really straightforward to play. The harp, being the predecessor to the piano, is set up like the white notes on the keyboard. Its strings are colour coded to easily identify Cs (coded in red) and Fs (coded blue). Previous musical ability such as reading music (treble and base clefts are used), playing by ear, or a working understanding of the piano are bonuses, but not pre-requisites to learning the harp. Many find it a great first instrument. Picture of Nisa and one of her students Because of its soothing tones and gentle nature, it is a great instrument to learn at any age, and even the simplest tunes and scales are a joy to play and listen to.

I have bee accepting students now for close to a year, and have been having a lot of fun teaching. I would be pleased to accept more students. Currently, I am charging $25.00 per half hour lesson. It is nice if students have their own harps, but it is not necessary, especially when just getting started.

Whether you have a music background, or just love the sound of music, do not hesitate to come and see me, try out my instrument, and see if the harp fits for you as it has for many people.
